We don’t provide formal 1:1 support or personal care. However, every group runs with a high ratio of experienced staff and volunteer helpers who know how to support young people with a wide range of needs. This allows us to offer plenty of guidance, reassurance and encouragement throughout each session.
No. An EHCP is not required to join Fun Friends. Many of our young people have one, but many don’t. What matters is that they would benefit from a safe, friendly group where they can build confidence, friendships and life skills.
No diagnosis is needed. We welcome young people with or without a formal assessment. Our team are experienced in supporting autism, ADHD, DLD, anxiety, speech and language needs and learning difficulties, but we also support young people who simply need a bit of extra understanding.
No. Families are welcome from any area. If you’re happy to travel to Sidcup, Wilmington, Dartford or Swanley, we’re happy to support your young person. Many families travel because they value the atmosphere, structure and support their child receives.
Fun Friends is a drop‑off club, which helps young people build confidence, independence and trust in the group. Parents and carers are welcome to arrive early for the first session to meet the team and see the setup, but after that sessions run independently. This also gives parents, carers and relatives a little breathing space; time to rest, reset or get things done while knowing their young person is safe, supported and enjoying themselves.
We are running summer sessions every Thursday in August at Swanley Park and fun days out are offered during the school holidays with information sent throughout the year. Normal club sessions don’t run during school holidays. Please check each group’s page for the full calendar.

We’re always grateful for any support! Families, friends, individuals, groups, workplaces and businesses can fundraise through sponsorship and donations to help us keep sessions running and subsidise trips, or by offering resources, or volunteering time to support with a workshop or event. Every contribution helps us provide safe, joyful and inclusive sessions for young people.
